Billy Porter makes a statement with his purse, teases bold Oscars 2020 outfit
Billy Porter is not one for subtlety.
The “Pose” star, 50, stepped out at celebrity hotspot L’Avenue at Saks on Tuesday night, serving as the co-host of the restaurant’s one-year anniversary party. Porter followed the night’s theme of “Uncommon Chic” by wearing head-to-toe black leather and a These Pink Lips purse emblazoned with a strong statement: “f—k u, pay me.”
Though Porter made a sartorial impact on Tuesday, he was looking forward to Sunday night’s Oscars 2020 red carpet. He was overheard saying, “I have something cooking for the Oscars. It’s a surprise. I can’t tell any of you. Just you wait.”
Regardless of what Porter chooses to wear, it’ll surely be one of the most talked-about looks of the night;he made his Oscars debut in 2019 wearing a now-iconic velvet tuxedo gown by Cristian Siriano.
Porter also said that is rooting for Joaquin Phoenix to win Best Actor for his role in “Joker,” and hopes Charlize Theron nabs Best Actress for “Bombshell.”
Other celebs in attendance included Gwendoline Christie, Natasha Lyonne, Winnie Harlow, Victor Cruz and more.
