Fanatics Super Bowl party turns into tribute to Kobe Bryant
The annual Fanatics party at the Super Bowl served as a star-studded tribute to Kobe Bryant on Saturday afternoon.
Shaquille O’Neal made an emotional speech remembering his late teammate, and the party’s host Michael Rubin gave out 1,500 Bryant jerseys to everyone in the crowd.
Post Malone closed out the bash by performing in a Bryant jersey himself, and Kevin Hart also made a heartfelt toast from the stage in honor of the NBA star who tragically died on Jan. 26.
With rain in the forecast, the glitzy party was quickly moved in just 24 hours from the Mondrian South Beach pool to a luxe tent at the Loews which housed the A-list NFL Commissioners event the night before. As rain came down, the bashwent off without a hitch, and guests included Jay Z, Swizz Beatz (who also DJ’d), Aaron Judge, Emily Ratajkowski, Emmitt Smith, Barry Sanders, CC Sabathia, Tiki Barber and Dwayne Wade.
The Chainsmokers and Migos also performed. Migos’ member Offset was on good form after he’d been involved a skirmish at a Miami strip club the day before when a reveler seemed to splash his wife, Cardi B, with Champagne, Page Six reported. He and Cardi B had performed together at Liv before the alleged incident occurred at Booby Trap on the River. But Offset appeared in great spirits as he played the Fanatics gig with his crew wearing diamond encrusted spectacles and showing off an equally gleaming grill. Cardi B played the same party a year ago in Atlanta.
During Shaq’s speech, he urged the crowd, “Put up a 2-4 for Kobe one last time.” Among those wearing theFanatics jerseys in the crowd were ex-Yankees star Johnny Damon and Beatz.
