The network on Thursday handed out a pilot order for Batwoman from show runner and writer Caroline Dries and exec producer Greg Berlanti.
David Nutter, the Emmy-winning Game of Thrones helmer who previously helmed pilots for The CW’s The Flash and Arrow, will serve in the same capacity on Batwoman.
The CW’s official description of the pilot reveals that Rose’s Kate Kane is, ‘armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind.’
She, ‘soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence.’
Characters reportedly being cast for the prospective series include Kate’s father, Colonel Kane; Batwoman’s Victorian Era-styled archenemy, Alice; and one that sounds like Renee Montoya.
