Here’s Why Phyno Called Music Journalist Joey Akan “A Tribal Fool”
Popular indigenous rapper, #Phyno, made the headline on Thursday, December 27, as he became a trending topic for threatening to deal with music journalist, Joey Akan, who, according to him, dared to make an insulting comment on his music career.
Trouble started after the music critic and celebrity blogger had shared his opinion about the rapper in what could be termed a recap of happenings in the music space in 2018.
Akan had said that Phyno was not part of any meaningful conversation in the year 2018 unlike majority of his counterparts, and the statement surely didn’t go down well with the indigenous rapper.
“Phyno had a very disappointing year. He’s no longer a part of any conversation,” the music journalist wrote.
In response to this, Phyno quoted Joey Akan’s tweet in which he trolled him and wrote:
“Imagine this tribal fool!!! Mind ur biz b4 i change am for u. EWU”
Meanwhile, Twitter users have since yesterday begun to take sides in reaction to the development.
Phyno kicked away the glass ceiling that Illbliss and Niggaraw raised.
The respect we accord to MI in Rap is the same sort of respect we should give to Phyno.
Estern boys are a lot more confident to rap in Igbo because of the success that is Phyno.

Yes, in the east, phyno is not just a musician— he’s a movement all by himself.
But… there’s no denying the fact that in the 2018 music scene, he didn’t have the best of years. Not even one rave-of-the-moment song

Joeakan says phyno had a disappointing year (i agree), Phyno responds with threats of violence.
The most painful part? Not a single person in the entire thread was honest with their feedback to Phyno. Lol
Is this what fame feels like? A lorry load of YES men? Smh
